As of now (2011) Efron has dropped plans to attend college - too busy, career wise.
He has not gone to college. He was accepted at both the University of Southern California and the University of California at Los Angeles. He planned to pursue film studies at USC, but he deferred enrollment because he was filming Hairspray. Then High School Musical 2, then 17 Again, etc. He chose his career over higher education.

When Zac graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 2006 he was accepted into the University of Southern California with a film scholarship. He decided to put college off to the side for a few years because he thought that being an actor was almost like going to college, learning new things every day. Only Zac knows when he will go back to USC.
