I was at the 4 July 1975 concert at Rickwood Field, the tickets were $1.99 to celebrate America's 199th birthday. The stage was behind the centerfield fence and there was a huge Confederate flag behind it. When Skynyrd came out a searchlight turned on behind the flag. It was awesome. I don't remember the other bands mentioned - but I was pretty high....
July 4th, 1975 I was at that show and Black Oak Arkansas was the opening act if My memory is correct. It was one of the best shows I ever attended. The old Rickwood Field Baseball park was packed. The entire evening was one big blur and ended when the city pulled the power and shut everything down. Ronnie was closing the show with Free Bird then Dixie and lastly Sweet Home Alabama.

I believe you are blending concert memories. That can happen with age and pharmaceuticals. ;)
I was at the 4 July 1975 concert at Rickwood. There were four bands. I do not recall the name of the first band. They were a soul/R&B band and may have been local. The next three bands, in order of appearance, were Goose Creek Symphony, Montrose, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. LS were touring to support the "Nuthin' Fancy" album. The lineup was essentially the same as the album except Ronnie Van Zant announced that Leon Wilkerson was in Atlanta helping out the Charlie Daniels Band so Ed King was playing bass. I do not recall seeing a third guitarist.
I attended another concert at Rickwood either that summer or the next that featured Gary Wright, Black Oak Arkansas, and Aerosmith in that order. I do not recall what album Aerosmith was supporting, but their big hit on the radio at the time was "Dream On".
I was sure it was the 3 mentioned plus one group coul
