His first wand was 12" Ash with a core of Unicorn Hair. It originally belonged to his brother Charlie. It was broken by the Whomping Willow in Book 2, the Chamber of Secrets.
His second wand was 14" Willow with a core of Unicorn Hair. It was bought for him by his parents at the beginning of Book 3, the Prisoner of Azkaban.
