I think this may be "Picture Perfect" with Jennifer Anniston and Jay Mohr. Kevin Bacon is her boss who she has a crush on...she hires Jay Mohr to pose as her boyfriend...he is a photographer she met at a wedding...of course it follows the predictable plotline, but with him falling for her first...it's the watch and his wanting to find something so personal to give her that makes her open her eyes to him and forget the philandering and boorish Kevin Bacon character. I can't remember how the black eye comes in but I do barely recall her getting injured somehow so that must be what I am thinking of. I hope this helps!
