The Hunger Games' resolution is not as satisfying of a resolution as most readers would like. Katniss and Peeta both survive the 74th Annual Hunger Games, which represents the resolution, but that resolution is cut short when they are told they are in danger and must continue their act of being star-crossed lovers. Peeta realizes that Katniss only loved him for the show, to win the Games, but doesn't realize that her feelings had changed while they were in the arena. The resolution of The Hunger Games was more of a semi-resolution, leading into the second book.
