The boys hunt for Ralph as an order of Jack.
Ralph Skan is 13 years old (birthdate: August 12, 1998).
In Chapter 12 of Lord of the Flies, Ralph hides, wondering about his wounds. He thinks he sees Bill in the distance, but realizes that it is not actually Bill anymore. He concludes that Jack will never leave him alone. Ralph can see the Lord of the Flies, now a skull with the skin and meat eaten away.He crawls to the lookout near Castle Rock and calls to Sam and Eric.They tell him that Roger has sharpened a stick at both ends. Ralph crawls away to a slope where he can safely sleep.
To quote directly about Ralph from the book... Lying there in the darkness, he knew he was an outcast. "'Cos I had some sense." As he later said to Samneric, "What have I done? I liked him-- and wanted us to be rescued--" And "But I've done nothing... I only wanted to keep up a fire!"

Samneric choose to join Ralph and Piggy in Chapter 12 of "Lord of the Flies," after they are captured by Jack's tribe and forced to betray Ralph's hiding place. They express regret for their actions and seek safety with Ralph's group.
At the beginning of chapter 12 in Lord of the Flies, Ralph is safe because he is hiding in the bushes and is not immediately visible to Jack's tribe. Jack's tribe is focused on finding and killing Ralph, so his hidden location keeps him safe for the time being.

Ralph learns of Jack's plans for him in Chapter 12 when he overhears Samneric's conversation about Jack's intention to hunt him like a pig. This revelation prompts Ralph to flee for his life through the jungle while being hunted by Jack and his tribe.
