What is Paul Stookey's song Sebastian about?

At first I thought the song was about a cat or a dog, but I read in the sheet music that Paul wrote it about an acoustic 12-string guitar he always wanted and received.

- Yes Sebastian is about the guitar... years ago a friend gave me a bootleg cassette recording of a show he did in our town hall (Queensland, Australia, approx 1978). He gives a lengthy introduction to the song as being about this guitar, I don't remember all the details but I listened because I'm a guitarist... It was something about finding this guitar, (which was known to him) standing against the wall all dusty, picking it up and playing some notes, he mentioned that it was the most beautiful guitar he'd heard and went 'awwwwww' (yep, that's Paul Stookey language) -- And went on to own it and write this song. The song's hard to find on the internet. Enjoy this wonderful artist.
