He thought Severus Snape was threatening Quirinius Quirrell to help him steal the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone. He overheard Quirrell in a room by himself talking to Voldemort, but he thought it was Snape. He also saw, while riding his broomstick, Snape and Quirrell in the Forbidden Forest.
In the movie, after fleeing the library, Harry saw Snape back Quirrell up against a wall and threaten him that he "doesn't want him as an enemy" before Filch interrupted them with the information that a student is out of bed. This was the scene where Snape probes the air with his hand in the direction of where Harry is under the Invisibility Cloak. It is just before he discovers the Mirror of Erised in the first movie.
Professor Quirrell could not touch Harry without receiving severe burns.
Severus tells Quirrel that he has to decide where his loyalties lie. This is after the incident with the troll.

Voldemort always wanted to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts but Dumbledore refused to give him a job. Voldemort then cursed the position so nobody could hold it for more than one year. In the 1991/1992 school year he shared Professor Quirrel's body. Quirrel taught Defence Against the Dark Arts.
Draco Malfoy was created in 1997.
Professor Quirrell was the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter's first year. He died at the end of the year after battling Harry for the philosopher's stone, which he was trying to steal for Lord Voldemort.Voldemort was sharing Quirrell's body. His head was visible on the back of Quirrell's, which is why he had taken to wearing a turban.

No. Professor Snape knew that Professor Quirrell was trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone and was trying to protect it.
Severus Snape was going to the third floor trapdoor to make sure Professor Quirrell was not able to go down and steal the philosopher's stone. Although, Harry and Ron thought that Snape himself was trying to steal the stone that night.
The professor of defense against the dark arts changed every year. From Wikipedia: 'During the period the story takes place, the class is taught by Quirinus Quirrell (book one), Gilderoy Lockhart (book two), Remus Lupin (book three), Bartemius Crouch Jr impersonating Alastor "Mad-eye" Moody (book four), Dolores Umbridge (book five), Severus Snape (book six), and Amycus Carrow (book seven)'

Professor Severus Snape is a major character throughout the series. He is the Potions Master at Hogwarts and takes an immediate dislike to Harry due to his likeness to his father, James, who used to bully Snape at school. Despite this, Snape does try to protect Harry and saves his life from Professor Quirrell when he tries to curse him off his broomstick.
Snape explains this to Bellatrix in the "Spinner's End" chapter of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He says that he didn't know Quirrell was working with Voldemort, that "I saw only greedy and unworthy Quirrell attempting to steal the stone and, I admit, I did all I could to thwart him," (USA Scholastic hardcover edition, p28). This might actually be the truth. In "The Prince' Tale" chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, when Harry watches the memories Snape gave him while he was dying, one of the memories is from Harry's first year: Dumbledore asks Snape to "keep an eye on Quirrell," (USA Scholastic hardcover edition, p679). It is not clear whether or not Dumbledore suspects Quirrell to be working with Voldemort at this point, or if he thinks Quirrell is trying to steal the stone all by himself. Dumbledore is, of course, a genius, so it is possible that he already knew Quirrell was working with Voldemort. But even if Dumbledore did already suspect that Quirrell was working with Voldemort, it doesn't necessarily mean that he shared this information with Snape.
Professor Quirrell was jinxing the broom trying to make Harry fall off. Professor Snape was trying to keep him on it.
