Sasuke first attempts to fight Itachi in Naruto episodes 84 and 85, where he fails miserably. He next encounters and attacks Itachi in Naruto Shippuden in episode 134, but that turns out to just be a clone/genjutsu (unsure about that). Finally, he fights Itachi in Shippuden from the end of episode 135 through 138.

The first time would be after Sasuke is woken from Itachi's Mangekyo Sharingan attack (I'm not considering any fillers here) on top of the Hospital roof. After that, the two fought at the Valley of the End. Later in Shippuden, they slightly faced off when Team Kakashi under Commander Yamato infiltrated one of Orochimaru's lairs, and later when Sakura takes it upon herself to kill Sasuke.
