hobbits like to eat alot and they eat alot of potatoes :) read the books and it will tell you... (the 2nd book)
Hobbits enjoy bright colors on their clothes (e.g. yellow, green, blue) and most all of them are quite fond of a good afternoon pipe. They love to gossip about the goings on of the Shire, and they adore birthday parties. Usually, about four birthday parties are going on in just one week, at which the host gives away presents to all of his guests (unlike our birthday parties nowadays...). In Fellowship of the Ring, we get a good glimpse of what a hobbit's birthday party is like (Frodo's and Bilbo's, to be exact); mirthful and merry, with plenty of music, dancing and laughter, and lots to eat and drink.
Because above all else, what hobbits truly love most is food. They love to eat. A hobbit has six meals a day; breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, and supper - not to mention a few snacks in between. If you have seen the movie production of Fellowship of the Ring, you might remember Merry and Pippin sneaking into farmer Maggot's crops and getting away with carrots and corn, among other vegetables. Later on in the film, the four hobbits stumble across a patch of mushrooms in the path, and are thrown into a state of ecstasy. Even in The Two Towers, in a conversation between Sam and Gollum, we learn that one of Sam's favorite foods are potates (or "taters"), which he dearly misses.

He dislikes them chipping the plates and bending the forks as well as blunting the knives. He had been complaining about all the work and that no one was helping. It was a song the dwarves sang as they finally came to help him with the dishes after dinner.
Hobbits dislike anything out of the ordinary, or anything that is very unexpected or dangerous (adventurous, even).
Chipping the glasses,
Cracking the plates,
Blunting the knives,
Bending the forks.
That's what Bilbo Baggins dislikes.
They avoid adventures, as they make them late for dinner. Most of them avoid the water as well.
Hobbits are prideful in the sense that they are secure in their living arrangements. They are simple, gentile, and kind creatures. They are never involved in any type of adventures, and are expected to live a certain way. Hobbits take pride in being clean and well respected creatures.
In my view, I think hobbits are carefree peoples. They eat, drink and be merry. They love to smoke, party, eat large feasts, dance, Unfortunately, they're terrified of a fight, they fight for self-defence. They don't like to be taken out of their safety zone. I hope this helps
{| |- | Hobbits are very shy creatures. They don't like to be seen by bumbling humans. Having good hearing allows them to avoid contact with other creatures when they wish. |}
The term Halfling is used in some parts of Middle Earth to refer to Hobbits.
Bilbo and Frodo Baggins are both hobbits.
