Well some of them donate to charity. But mostly celebrities serve an entertainment purpose. In other words celebrities are there to pass the time of the people in society whether that be through movies or tv shows etc.. Given the stress factor in a lot of people's lives, celebrities offer a temporary escape.

∙ 14y agocelebrites entertain us in a way we enjoy or in a way we do not wrong the dont really do anything phisicly but they can do something mentally like maybe idolize them They make twitters to keep us updated on what's new with them. They continue to work even when they are exausted. They go on tour all summer and hardly get any sleep. They do alot for us. And we treat some of them like crap. (?)
