What colors are the dwarves' beards in The Hobbit?

1. Dwalin - dark green hood
2. Balin - red

5. Dori - purple
6. Nori - purple
7. Oin - brown

10. Bofur - yellow
11. Bombur - pale green
12. Thorin - sky blue with a large silver tassel
13. Ori- grey

These are mainly guesses- Tolkien doesn't specify exactly which dwarves have which hoods after the first couple, because they come in such large numbers.

The Hobbit Story chronologically precedes The Lord of the Rings, so Gandalf was still known to the Elves as Mithrandir, the GreyPilgrim. Only in LOTR, after the betrayal of Saruman (the White, leader of the Istari - wizards) did he become Gandalf the White.
