The dwarves were cheerful because they had finally taken their kingdom of the Lonely Mountain after the great dragon Smaug was defeated by the Lake men. Bilbo IS a Hobbit. Etymologically, a Hobbit is literally a "hole dweller" while Bilbo means "a short sword".

Bilbo Baggins' father, Bungo Baggins, is not prominently featured in J.R.R. Tolkien's works, and he doesn't have any memorable quotes attributed to him in "The Hobbit" or "The Lord of the Rings." However, Bilbo often reflects on his family's values and the comfort of home, which are influenced by his parents. Bungo is known for building Bag End, the cozy hobbit-hole where Bilbo lives, symbolizing a connection to home and comfort.
Bilbo Baggins lives in the Shire, in a cozy hobbit hole called Bag End. His home represents comfort, security, and familiarity for him. However, it also symbolizes his reluctance to leave his comfort zone and embark on adventures, which is a central theme in the story.

I believe The Hobbit's moral of the story was the word "YOLO". Why is because if you deeply think about it you can see why...see Bilbo was 50 and did nothing with his life but sit around draink beer and eat cake but when gandalf came it all changed. He went out of his Hobbit hole and risked it all, his respect from hobbits, and his life! Coming back with little to no respect but he was a hero for all he did. You know you only live once and Bilbo realized that!
