At the end of chapter 17 of The Hobbit, Bilbo is in the Battle of Five Armies and is just thinking that all hope is lost for the Dwarves and Elves and Men when he sees an army of eagles soaring toward them. Bilbo shouts, "The Eagles! The Eagles!" But then, a stone thrown by a goblin hits his head on the helm, and he falls down and blacks out.
He goes back to living like all the other normal hobbits, in his little hobbit hole at Bag End, Hobbiton. Many of the Shire-folk considered him strange (a bit fanatical, maybe). Hardly any of them had been in his hobbit-hole, he had many odd guests come calling on him (dwarves, wizards and the like) and it was even said that the tunnels of his hole were filled with wild treasure (which is of course, untrue). Nevertheless, Bilbo was a perfectly happy, peaceful-living hobbit.
NOTE: Bilbo has been presumed deceased, and his possessions are being auctioned off when he returns.
Thorin was dying, he had been mortally wounded in the Battle of Five Armies. He wanted to make his peace with Bilbo before he died. Bilbo was found and brought to him just in time.
Well, as he justifies it to himself, he was entitled to a one fourteenth share of the treasure and which fourteenth was not specified. Though he was pretty sure that the Arkenstone would not be a part that he would get.
In chapter four of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, the dwarves and Bilbo and Gandalf the wizard are in the goblin tunnels. At the end of the chapter, a group of goblins sneaks up on Bilbo's party and one of them grabs hold of Dori, who happened to be carrying Bilbo. Bilbo then falls off of Dori's shoulders and knocks his head on a rock, and blacks out.
Bilbo said, talking to himself, "what have i got in my pocket?" (it was the Ring). Gollum thought it was a riddle and Bilbo decided to make it one. he gave Gollum three chances to guess and gollum lost after four. then gollum went "to get something" (it was the ring), and Bilbo thought he was abandoned and left with the ring on. Gollum thought Bilbo knew the way out and he wanted to follow him, realizing Bilbo had the ring. Bilbo saw Gollum racing towards the gate and followed him to safety.

"The Eagles are coming! The Eagles are coming!"
He had little part in the battle. He stood with the elves, but was knocked out by a rock early in the conflict.

Killed in battle when mistaken for Achilles
When the author says that Bilbo fought the real battle alone in the tunnel, he means that Bilbo displayed true courage and resourcefulness by facing the dangers and challenges without the help of his companions. This moment marks a significant turning point in Bilbo's character development, showing his bravery and quick thinking in a critical moment.
In the Battle of Five Armies he took his place on Ravenhill with the elves.
