There is no one called 'Tookish'. 'Took' is a Hobbit family/clan name, a clan known for being more adventurous than others. To be called 'Tookish' it generally means that a Hobbit is descended from Tooks (ie, Bilbo Baggins, from his mother Belladonna Took) and feeling the call of adventure.
Gandalf is called Mithrandir by the elves which means 'Grey-Pilgrim' or 'Grey-Wanderer'.

In chapter 5 of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, Bilbo escapes from the greedy hands of Gollum. When Gollum realizes that chasing Bilbo is futile, he shouts this last line at Bilbo: "Thief, thief, thief! Baggins! We hates it, we hates it, we hates it for ever!," thus calling Bilbo both 'Thief' and 'Baggins.'
He uses the term to infuriate the spiders and draw them away from the dwarves tied up in the trees.

Your best bet is to obtain a copy of the Cliff Notes that cover this excellent book. Another Great website for book summary's and analysis is Spark Notes. The summary's are better than the critical response though.
