Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Harry placed his own sock in the diary that Lucius Malfoy had slipped into Ginny Weasley's cauldron at the beginning of the movie and gave the diary back to Lucius, who tossed it to Dobby. Harry told Dobby to open it and the elf found the sock within and since Lucius had thrown the diary to him, he unintentionally set him free.
Dobby catches a diary. In the chamber of secrets, Harry Potter takes his sock and pucks it inside of a diary. For a house elf to be set free, his/her master has to give them an article of clothing. Dobby's master lucious malfoy (draco's dad) throw the diary on the ground not knowing that there is a sock inside and tells Dobby to pick it up. When Dobby picks up the diary, he opens it and sees the sock. Technically since lusious "gave" him the diary with the sock he gave him an article of clothing thus setting him free
No, Dobby always respected Harry Potter very much as Harry Potter always treated him equally. Harry Potter also freed him from his cruel master, something which Dobby was always grateful for.
During the first movie Bellatrix lestrainge is torturing them and dobby comes to save them so he elf-aperates them but Bellatrix throws her knife at him and he dies but I cant explain in the amount of space given how they came to be at malfoy manor so watch the movie
The character of Dobby first appears in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (the second book/film).
Dobby died in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
The movie differed from the book. In the movie it was Neville Longbottom that informed Harry of Gillyweed. In the book it was Dobby the house elf. I agree with the above, but thought I should point out that Dobby is replaced by Neville a lot in the films. In Order of the Phoenix the book, it's Dobby who informs Harry about the Room of Requirement, but in the film, it was, yep, you guessed it, Neville!
yes
Dobby's age was never mentioned in the series.
Harry and Dobby met on the 31st July 1992 when Harry found Dobby in his bedroom.
