MaxineThe meeting place was on a flat platform of rock, which was raised a little higher than the beach and projected someway into the lagoon. The rock platform had a thin layer of soil which allowed the palm trees to grow to a certain height before their shallow roots were no longer able to support them. These fallen palm trees provided benches for the boys to sit on during their assemblies.
