Yes Itachi is stronger than Orochimaru.
When trying to take over Itachi's body, Orochimaru got his arm cut off and that led to his defection from Akatsuki. In the anime Orochimaru himself states in his layer that Itachi is stornger than him. And in the fight between Saskue and Itachi, when Orochimaru comes out of Sauske, once again Itachi defeats Orchimaru for the last time!
