Steve Perry, who calls from his home near San -Diego. Perry, who's finally started working on his first album of new material since leaving Journey, doesn't want to talk about the vocalists who've followed in his footsteps, Pineda included. "I only know that they've been through three guys," he says, "and I've never heard any of them. I stay away from it, because it's really none of my business now. We have children together, which are the songs we wrote, but that's about all."
Good morning! A few years ago, I heard a Journey song on the radio, and then watched a video on YouTube, and I became a huge journey fan! Steve Perry is my absolute favorite vocalist of all time, and I've listened to more jounrey songs than I can remember! Now that he has left journey, I think there can be no better replacement than Arnel Pineda! He is so kind, and an amazing singer in his own right! Now, who is better? Right now, hands down Arnel Pineda! However, if we compare the two singers when they were in their absolute primes, I believe Steve was the better singer. He could effortlessly reach high notes, and sustain notes for a ridiculously long length of time. Arnel's chest voice is more powerful than Steve's though, while Steve's high notes are more powerful, precise, and clear. I believe they are both wonderful. in 1981, Steve was the king of the voice, and now that torch has been passed to Arnel! Thank you so much for your time, and have a great day!:)

No, sorry to say but they have not met. Perry wants nothing to do with the old journey/new journey and doesnt listen to their songs.
No, the original recoding is Steve Perry. But it is Dean Castranovo who sing it live in their concert tours.
No he is not. Currently touring with Journey is Arnel Pineda. Steve and the band were going to tour in '96, but in order to do that he had to get hip surgery, which he refused to do. Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain decided to find a Perry-sound-alike, going from Steve Augeri to Arnel Pineda.
Mr. Pineda's wife's name is Cherry. Their son's name is Cherub. Arnel and Cherry met through Arnel's brother, who worked at the same place as Cherry at that time.
Arnel Pineda does a better Steve Perry impression than Steve Perry. He is way better vocalist. I love the new versions of their classic songs.
No. They are not related.

Arnel Pineda, as of 07, prior to that, Steve Perry although both sound the same. Arnel was in a cover band and sounded just like Steve which is why the band made him the singer.

He was. Until he hurt his hip hiking in Hawii. Now, the lead singer is Arnel Pineda.
"Don't Stop Believin'" is originally from Journey's 1981 album Escape.
