No, Amber doesn't die, she survived the explosion and was convinced to fake her own death by Ebony. She was found by Pride, whom took her to the Eco tribe, and eventually led the new tribe under the name of Eagle (She was found on Eagle Mountain).
In season 3, after The Chosen have taken over the city, Pride comes across Dal, Lex, Bray and Ebony. They discover Amber is alive and ask for her help to regain the city.
