situation comedies

A sitcom is a television genre (situation comedy) where people are in the same situation every episode there are a lot of stereo types in them. stereotypes are things that reflect ideas that groups of people hold about others who are different from them A stereotype can be embedded in single word or phrase (such as, "jock" or "nerd"), an image, or a combination of words and images. The image evoked is easily recognized and understood by others who share the same views. Stereotypes can be either positive ("black men are good at basketball") or negative ("women are bad drivers"). But most stereotypes tend to make us feel superior in some way to the person or group being stereotyped. In a sitcom the main stereotypes is who runs or is leader of the house hold out of the men and the women sitcoms usually pick the women to rule the house hold but the man also thinks he does this causes a chain of events sitcoms also have catch phrases that they will say often maybe in every episode so the audience is just waiting for them to say it e.g. Rodney u plonker
