Kikyo shot inuyasha with a sacred arrow that sends him to sleep for fifty years to be awoken by Kagome. Kikyo however dies. Kagome is a young girl who had the sacred jewel inside of her and she is the reincarnation of Kikyo. Kagome finds her way to the past and awakens Inuyasha. She accidentally shatters the sacred jewel and Inuyasha and Kagome set out to collect the jewel shards. Along the way they fall in love and have to defeat the dangerous enemy Nuraku.
