In the 50s-60s there was a car called Isetta.
The front of the car was the door. I only saw one and I was a child at the time. I lived on an Air Force base and one of the airmen had shipped it back to the US from Europe.
No Mercury of that vintage has a forward-hinged hood
The person who opens the door.
it opens and closes
A saloon car has a bonnet (UK) hood (US) at the front and a boot (UK) trunk(US) at the back. A hatchback is the same at the front but at the back there is a door that opens (upwards) straight into the car. They often have fold down rear seats so that you can store more stuff.
There is a release under the dash, and if my memory is correct a second release on near the windshield. The hood opens toward the front of the car, the hinges are near the headlights.
The person that opens the door is at fault
pull the bonnet release under the dasshboard on drivers side a black/red button then comes out of grill on front of car push button in and bonnet opens
If your referring to the drain plug, it's on the driver side of the radiator on the very bottom facing the front of the car. CCW opens the drain valve and CW closes it.
Pull hood latch and then go to front of car and hit front center of hood with fist. If this does not work you can drive car nto a curb while holding hood latch in open position, this should make hood pop open.
Needs a battery
The insurance company of the car whose door was opened will pay for it.
like the hood and and the place where the engine is at the very front of the car. the front.
