I cannot think of any covered cause that would cause the collapsing of a well. Damage must be due to a covered cause.

No. A broken faucet sounds like a maintenance or a manufacturer issue and not an insurance problem. Insurance covers events that happen due to a covered cause such as : fire, theft, lightning, windstorm, weight of ice or snow, and many others. The covered item happen in a sudden and accidental manner for them to be covered as well. At no time does a homeowners policy cover maintenance problems. Will homeowners insurance cover a well pump that is bad?

Not likely. Most insurers would consider a well pump to be a homeowners maintenance issue. Well pumps require replacement form time to time. they are a mechanical device and they just break down and die after a period of time depending on usage and ground and well condition's. It's no different from needing to do occasional mechanical repairs on your automobile. A warranty might help you if it's still in force but your auto insurance would not pay for mechanical breakdown. Likewise your homeowners insurance policy does not provide for maintenance costs of your home.

Does homeowners insurance cover plumbing repair to a leaking pipe behind a wall in the house?

AnswerIt may vary state to state but generally NO insurance will not cover the leaking pipe but it will cover the cost to get to it and repair the damage done to get to it as well as cover the damage done from the leak. You are on your own with the cost of the plumber. Best bet is to read your policy on exclusions. If it is not excluded, it's covered.
