Common flaws would be staining, foxing (yellowing), fading, stains, creases, rips, loose pages, cracked binding, writing on the cover, and mailing labels. Any of these flaws could bring the value down significantly.
They issued their first basketball set in 1961. The 1961-62 Fleer set includes the rookie cards of many HOF'ers, most notably Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlin, Walt Bellamy, Hal Greer, K.C. Jones, Sam Jones, and Oscar Robertson. They didn't release another set until the landmark 1986-87 Fleer set which includes the rookie card of Michael Jordan.
According to Beckett's 2011 issue (May I remind you Beckett doesn't include ALL of that years cards), Barry Bonds, Jose Conseco, Will Clark and Bo Jackson's rookie cards are all $25 or more.
I would suggest you check with a dealer/collector in your town or get an issue of Beckett's magazine which would have the price listed.
