Clinical Psychology diagnoses and treats people with psychological disorders, such as depression and schizophrenia while educational psychology assesses and treats both students and the educational environment in order to help students learn and adjust in school.

The sociology of education is concerned with matters like: * Educational attainment and social class. * Relationships between home and school. * Relationships within schools and also within classrooms. It merges with areas like the study of how knowledge is divided up into subjects and how knowledge and culture are transmitted from one generation to the next.

∙ 11y agoEducational sociology is that science which merely attempts to apply the innovated principles of sociology to the feild of education. It is branch of applied sociology.
Whereas sociology of education is not applied branch , it is feild of specialization. It rather attempts to study directly education as a system of society & attempts to develop necessary principles and laws regarding education as a social system and its internal relationships within itself as well as its external relationships with other institutions of society. It is concerned with both the construction of a theory and its application.
Educational sociology doesn't apply any principles evolved somewhere in the feild of sociology of education.

Sociology is a branch of sciene which studies the behavoir of populations at large. This would include such things as 'Group Think'. Education is an institution in learning and teaching occurs. We would learn about sociology in a social studies class, but that is about as far as the comparison can be made. Sociology studies very large populations of people, like all the people of an entire country or all of the people in a total population that fit certain criteria. The study of psychology would be more useful to understand a single persons behavoir or experiences when trying to teach them something.
