YouTube was started in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees—Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim—in San Mateo, California. It was incorporated on April 23, 2005, as a privately held company, and later moved its headquarters to San Bruno, California. YouTube, LLC is currently owned by Google Inc., which bought it on October 9, 2006 for US$1.65 billion; Google's stated intention was to "make YouTube the next Google".
Youtube was origonally created by Jawed Karim and his friends Steve Chen and Chad Hurley but it was later purchased by Google. So in a nut shell Youtube is the product of Google.
