More information is needed to correctly answer this question but if you mean to say that he's normally outgoing and he is shy when he's around you, it's possible that he likes you and doesn't want to be himself completely for he fears that he will "scare you off" because he is too intense.
Whenever someone is around someone pleasing to them they act a bit different from their normal self because they're nervous.
