No one believes that God hates LGBT people. How ignorant some are to comment so. Its the test God wants them to overcome to give them higher levels in the eternal life. Natural orientations and feelings are not sins.

Answer:Religion is the reason in those countries and it's both Christianity, Islam and other religions they follow. They mix religion and politics and let religion influence politics and law making a lot. So if they believe in a very strict version of the religion that is against LGBT (or how they interpret it), the laws will be strict too in banning LGBT rights. They believe they follow Gods law. Some countries allow some things but not others.
