Guys are mean to girls they like because they don't know how to express their feelings. They also want to cover up the fact that they might like a girl and they will be mean to her to try to stop suspicions. This doesn't always work and you can usually tell if a guy likes a girl because he will obsessivly try to be mean to her at all times and will usually go overboard on it.
