I believe this rifle was made by Mossberg and is the Mossberg 46B. Do a search for photos of the 46B Mossberg to see if it is a match. If so, try Havlin Sales & Service as they may have a replacement trigger guard.
The 46B was made 1938-1946. The 46B (a) was made 46-47, and the 46B (b) was made 47-49.
50-150 or so
There is a Mossberg 46B, and a 46B(b), but no B46B. The 46B is a bolt action .22 Target rifle, made 1938-1946, the 46B(b) was a later model, made 1947-49. I have a few of these- they are excellent target rifles. There IS a Mossberg Collector's Society, and a good history book of Mossberg guns (More Gun for the Money). Some info on different Mossberg 22's can be found by running a Google search for epix mossberg models.
The Model 46B was made 1938-1946. The 46B(a) was 1946-1947, the 46B(b) was 1947-1949. These are EXCELLENT target rifles.
Model number changed to 46B(a) after that year
You could try Numrich gun parts corp.they may be found on the web.You could also look at gunbroker.com.
The Mossberg 46B(b) was only made in 1947-1949, when the model number changed. Excellent target rifle.
The MOSSBERG Model 46B was made between the years 1938 and 1945.
50-200 or so
There isn't any. Mossberg did not put serial numbers on their rifles until 1968
The Mossberg mod 46B was introduced in 1938 and dropped in 1940. As a good quality bolt action target rifle it should be worth $200 in reasonable shape. Mossberg collectors might well pay more. Check out the market at Auctionarms.com The 46b-b was produced after the Second World War, 1947 to 1949.
