What to get your boyfriend a birthday present?

It would be nice to know what age range I am looking at here, but most men have hobbies which can give you a good starting point for gift ideas. Or if he doesn't already have one, a large flat screen TV would be nice. Ok, that may be too expensive. How about taking him to his favorite restaurant and paying for the meal?
