Depends on condition, condition, and condition. If it says 22 short (not long, long rifle) then this is a 12-B which is referred to as a Gallery rifle which is what they were typically sold for. It's a bit scarce to find this in real good condition since most were used hard. A gallery in poor condition is still probably worth $300 and in excellent condition can be a $1,200 rifle. With box it would be worth A LOT more I've never seen a 12-B box.
None of them say. 22 short, long, or long rifle round barrel 12-A octagon barrel 12-C 22 short (octagon) 12-B 22 Remington Special (octagon) 12-CS
Probably a Remington Model 12 -? depends on barrel, ammo made in 1914.
The Model 4 is a rolling block. They made ~350,000 from 1890 to 1933 in calibers from 22 short to 32 long...
If it's a pump without a model on the side then it's a early model 12, this one was made in 1915. Which variation depends on round or octagon barrel or if it's short only or 22 remington special vs 22 rf.
Value of ANY gun is based on exact make, model, veariety and condition. Without all 4, impossible to answer.
Look for the letters stamped in the barrel near the frame 9on the left side. Go to the Remington history site to see the month and year they pertain to. DXH
The .17 Remington cartridge would be chambered for a short action rifle.
What do you mean by short barrel? They were all 24" barrels. The barrel is measured by putting a stick ( or whatever ) down the barrel from the muzzle until it hits the bolt, it is not the measurement from the muzzle to where it hits the receiver. True for all guns. That is the barrel length. The 241 is a "Takedown" Rifle, so you have about 3/4 of an inch beyond where the barrel meets the receiver that is threaded so you can assemble and disassemble the rifle.
In great condition a little over $500. Check this website: http://www.gunsinternational.com/results.cfm?cid=574
The model 1890 Winchester was only chambered in .22 short,22long,22 long rifle,or 22WRF calibers which were all rimfire calibers.
