To read the markings on an SKS rifle, start by locating the serial number, typically found on the receiver and sometimes on the stock. Next, look for the manufacturer's markings, which can indicate the country of origin and factory. Additionally, you may find date markings that specify the year of manufacture. Other symbols or numbers may provide information about the model or specific features of the rifle.
