The Daisy VL22 was manufactured in 1968-69. It was designed by Jules van Langenhoven (VL). It was a cross between an Airgun and a firearm. It has quite a history.
Unfortunately you did not state the condition of the rifle. So I can not give you an estimate of the value.
I need to know does it still work? Is it in what condition? Excellent, very good, good, fair or poor.
Re-post your question here with this information and I will try to help you.
I't is in very good condition
Today it is worth around $200 to $215. When Daisy made these rifles they used a form of gun powder and the BATFE ruled it to be a firearm so the rifle was discontinued and only made between 1968-69. The were not particular Accurate but fired at 1150 FPS. And that is very fast for a rifle in that time period. Today air rifles are just starting to reach that speed without gunpowder. The rifle used a caseless air-ignited cartridge. Approx 19,000 were made.
If it's a VL - 0-500 USD It it's a Legacy 0-175 USD.
Maybe 150
The VL caseless cartridge has not been made in several years, and is a collector's item. Once in a while they are found at gun shows, or on-line firearm auction sites.
Depends. If your Daisy is in caliber .22 LR, they were in production from 1990 to about July 92. However, there was also a Daisy chambered for a CASELESS .22 (known as the VL) that had no primer- the solid propellant was ignited by hot. compressed air. The ATF ruled that these WERE firearms, not pellet guns, and Daisy dropped production of them. THEY were made in 1968, and a few months in early 1969.
The VL is an Under lever cocking spring powered Rifle and fires a special 22 caseless air cartridge The Legacy fires a regular 22 cal bullet. The Legacy came in models 2201, 2211, 2202, 2212, 2203 and 2213.
Depends on the exact model and condition. For standard .222LR, about $90-$110. The rifles that used the caseless .22 VL ammo are 50-100% above that.
50-300 usd
what is the value of a 22 caliber ddaisy rifel with a mag fed at the bottom.
100 or so
100 or so
This is a very interesting rifle. Notice I did not say air rifle. When Daisy developed this rifle it was for the air rifle market. It used a propellant mass as a charge. it was about to go into mass production when Senator Kennedy was shot, because of the backlash from the public Daisy stopped production after making 25,000 models, The model years were 1968-1969. (Daisy dropped the project all together.) There were three versions of the rifle. The standard version was the VL and 19,000 VL's were made. It used a 29 grain bullet and fired at 1150 FPS. Very fast for that era. It is considered in it's own class as a firearm and an air gun. cartridges are no longer made for this rifle. (Caseless air-ignited cartridge) In good condition it is worth around $145 BATFE ruled that this gun is a FIREARM. Daisy is not licensed to make firearms.
100 give or take
