I've seen High Standard 28ga shotguns go for $300-$359
In good shape about $150 - $200
I've seen them sell for as high as $1175 NIB. Used should be in the $1000 range.
My references do not list a Pointer model. High Standard was a gun manufacturer in Conneticut, and made several pump, auto and over/under shotguns. Company ceased operations in 1984. Many of the Sear J C Higgins shotguns were made by High Standard, and the Flite-King model was one of their best known. Good shotguns. Not real pricy, not a lot of collector interest, but decent shooters.
The JC Higgins 28-gauge shotgun was manufactured by the High Standard Manufacturing Company. It was marketed by Sears, Roebuck and Company under the JC Higgins brand from the late 1940s to the 1960s. The exact number of JC Higgins 28GA shotguns produced is not well-documented, making it difficult to provide a specific figure. However, they are considered relatively rare compared to other models from the era.

This is the official Kennel Club Breed Standard for the correct tail of a docked German Shorthaired Pointer:''Starts high and thick growing gradually thinner, customarily docked to medium length by two fifths to half its length.''
This one is impossible to answer without a lot more information. If the firearm is in very good condition my advice would be contact one or more of thoes dealers who handle high grade collectable firearms. $5000 to $6000 would not be too much to expect for a very high condition gun if you were to sell it yourself. Value,of course, drops with condition.
