Prohormones are inactive forms of hormones that can be converted into active hormones within the body. Prehormones are substances that are converted into hormones after being modified by the body through specific enzymatic processes. In summary, prohormones are the inactive precursor form of a hormone, while prehormones are substances that are converted into hormones.
