a card is like a bit of writing and the papers folded in half, so you would give a card to someone birthday, if they are ill, etc, or even moving house, get well cards, sorry cards, etc.

letters are for if you are writing to a penfriend, and you have lots to write. you dont write alot on a card. just the odd few words. a letter has a whole page full of words.
