Counting calories for your babies diet control is good for reassurance of the babies needs but as a fact normal babies have different eating habits and different calorie intake per day is not an absolute indicator of healthy diet. But still the question remains how many calories are required for a healthy active baby every day? The required calories intake is calculated as per the weight of the child. Recommended calculation is 45 kcal per pound or babies weight. A 1 year old girl weighing 20 pounds will need approximately 20*45 = 900 kcal. Different babies have different intakes and if your baby is taking anywhere between +-20% 720-1080 kcal then it's ok. (You will have to do the calculation as per your babies weight)
