There are countless variants of the Chinese Type 56 carbine, and their values can vary greatly. The Type 56 is not classed as a Curio & Relic, and they're not in any way uncommon, in spite of having been banned from further importation since.. 1994, I believe. For a basic model, you can expect $200 - $250.. might be able to press for a little more, but they're not particularly high dollar value firearms.

About $300, depending on condition.
Not the most common, but not particularly highly sought after. Unfortunately, it does nothing to increase the value.
In the context of Norinco SKS rifles, the "M" at the end of a serial number typically indicates that the firearm is a variant known as the SKS-M. This model features specific modifications, such as the ability to accept detachable magazines, distinguishing it from the standard SKS models. The "M" designation helps collectors and enthusiasts identify the specific configuration and features of the rifle.
