Capacity refers to the maximum amount that something can hold, while volume refers to the amount of space that an object occupies. For example, a cup may have a capacity of 8 ounces, indicating the maximum amount of liquid it can hold, while its volume would be the actual amount of space that cup occupies.

Capacity is the area which is inside a empty hollow shape e.g 500mL , 2 cups

where the volume is the amount which has been taken up by a liquid or object e.g 200mL, half cup.

If it is a solid shape the inside is the volume because it doesn't have any space inside it so there is no capacity in a solid.

Also is a shape is completely empty then there you cant measure the volume because to measure the volume there has to be somthing in there from either a cubic cm or liquids etc.

What is the relationship between capacity and volume?

Capacity is the maximum amount that something can hold, while volume refers to the amount of space that something occupies. Volume is a measurement of the size or amount of a three-dimensional space, while capacity is the maximum amount that this space can accommodate. In other words, capacity is like the limit of volume.

What is the relation between volume and capacity?

Volume refers to the amount of space occupied by an object or substance, while capacity refers to the maximum amount that something can contain. In simpler terms, volume is a measure of space, while capacity is a measure of how much substance or material something can hold.

What is the difference between volume and dimension?

Volume refers to the amount of space occupied by an object, measured in cubic units. Dimension, on the other hand, refers to the measurement of an object in terms of length, width, and height. In essence, volume is a three-dimensional concept that includes all dimensions.

What Does Capacity Have To Do With Volume?

Capacity refers to the maximum amount that something can hold, while volume is the amount of space that an object occupies. In essence, capacity is related to how much a container can hold, while volume refers to the amount of substance within the container.

The difference between pitch and volume?

Pitch refers to how high or low a sound is, determined by the frequency of the sound waves. Volume, on the other hand, refers to how loud or soft a sound is, determined by the amplitude of the sound waves.

What is the difference between volume measurements and capacities?

The difference between capacity and volume is that when you measure volume you mearsure the amount of space or air in a 3D shape and capacity measures the amount of water or anything, prefrebly a liquid that it can hold

What is the difference between volume and depth?

volume is a measurement of capacity, 3 dimensional. depth is a measurement of length, 2 dimensional.

What are capacity and volume?

Capacity is the space inside something (that is hollow). Volume is the space something occupies. The capacity of a bottle is the amount of space inside the bottle, whereas the volume of the bottle is the space that the bottle occupies. The difference between the two is the volume of the material from which the bottle is made.

What is the difference between cranial capacity and centimeter cube?

The cranial capacity is a measure of the volume of a skull (cranium) while a centimetre cube is a measure of volume - of any object - the ignition chambers of a petrol engine, a bottle of soda, a box.

How are capacity and volume the same?

Volume is strictly geometrical; it refers to an amount of space. Capacity can be an amount of anything. Heat capacity, for example, is the amount of energy needed to increase the temperature of a given substance. What is the difference between mass and capacity?

I do not know the answer. The difference between mass and capacity is that capacity is how much something can hold and mass is the weight of an object.
