Contact Remington Customer Service through their website. Many Remingtons used a 2 or 3 LETTER code for dating, stamped on the left side of the barrel at the receiver.

Yes. I was told the date of manufacture was stamped in the side of the barrel at the receiver on the left. This is what was there9 0s 83.
Remington used a series of letters stamped on the barrel to indicate month and date of manufacture. IF the barrel is original to the gun, that should give you a pretty close answer. Letters are on the left side, just forward of the receiver. The Remington Collectors website has a chart of the letters, and the corresponding years.

Well, no.... not if the receiver is chambered for 30-06.
They were made from 1939 until 1962. There is a 3 digit code on the left side of the barrel just in front of the receiver. The first two letters indicate the date of manufacture. Go to the Remington Society of America and click the Manufacture Dates for a table to look them up.
Send me the two or three letter code on the left side of the barrel back by the receiver then I can tell you the month & year of manufacture. You'll need a magnifier.
