Winchester manufatured two distinctly different "Model 55" rifles.

The first Model 55 was simply a variant of the Model 94, and it was factory chambered for the 30 W.C.F., 25-35 W.C.F., and 32 W.S. centerfire hi-powered cartridges. It was manufactured from June 1924 through December of 1932. The date of manufacture can be determined from the serial number (stamped on the bottom forward edge of the receiver frame). This version of the Model 55 is quite collectable, and can be worth decent $$$$ if in nice condition.

The second Model 55 was a single-shot semi-automatic .22 caliber rimfire cartridge rifle that Winchester introduced in the year 1957. They were not serial numbered and though there were only 45,000 made, it is not considered to be a "collector grade" Winchester, and they typically sell for less than $200.
