It depends on what you guys are talking about. My current boyfriend and I used to talk a lot about things we had in common (movies, books, ect.), but not around his friends. Its probably just because he is uncomfortable, so you should definitely be the one to talk to him around others. Be the strong woman, and start a conversation. Show him that you can take initiative.
