First lets state that your rifle is a Remington model 742 Woodmaster semi-auto 30-06 rifle ,not a Winchester.these rifles normally sell in the range of 275-350 dollars depending on overall condition and a good bore.
Yes they did, i have one sporterised. It is marked M1917 Remington on the top of the reciever.
The 742 is a 740 semi auto with the feeding problems fixed. Made from mid 1950's until it was replaced with the 7400.
How old is it? Barrel length? How much of the finish is present? What condition is the stock in? Broad range 200-400
January, 1951
Only if it is marked ".223 Remington" on the barrel.
economy grade
yes- see the link below marked PICTURES
The designation, BDL represents "B" grade wood and the DL is for deluxe model.
i belief its a sniper rifle that is by Remington
A 742 isn't all that expensive of a rifle, I wouldn't give much over $300 for it.I believe there's also a recall on a certain date of manufacture, make sure to check.
The 1960s 742 Woodmaster 30-06 rifle in mint condition might be worth as much as 7500 dollars in a collector auction. This value varies greatly with the trends in collecting.
