apples, berries, celery, grapes, & cabbage :D
For some foods there is a phase change from solid to liquid. Everything becomes liquid when it is digested, but some foods are already liquid when you eat them.
Phase 1 is the Induction which is aimed at changing your body from burning carbohydrates to fat for its enegry. The purpose is to stabilize your blood sugar and break your addiction to carbohydrates. You are allowed to eat meats, fats and cheeses. Vegetables are okay in moderation. You are not allowed to eat carbohydrate rich foods, including pastas and grains, nuts or dairy.
Many diet plans have restrictions for those who are following the plan to abide by. In phase two of the South Beach diet, those who are following the plan do not have to stick to set number of carbs just foods on a specific list.
