In my experience, roses usually symbolize beauty. Men and women often get rose tattoos to honor the memory of a beloved female in their lives, as roses are also a symbol of love. They are commonly associated with the Virgin Mother and can be a symbol of faith especially with Catholics. As far as the location of a rose tattoo on the body, I am unaware of any specific meaning of where a rose should or should not be placed.
