You need to talk to your body mods artist before taking anything.
No, alcohol prep pads that don't say numbing, do not numb when getting pierced or tattooed. You can request to be numbed before a piercing or tattoo with numbing cream, or numbing alcohol prep pads.
The piercer won't numb your cartilage before piercing it.
Professionals? i don't think they do? Usually none of them do. If your going to get it pierced maybe you can go get an ice cream before or after you get it done. Or something cold to numb it or to help with the swelling. You shouldn't freeze it its just a waist of time it doesn't hurt at all and I'm very bad with pain.

You can certainly ice them before hand if you like, but you will have to get them pretty numb for you to not feel much of anything. It's the best bit of advice that I can give you unless you just so happen to have some topical Lidocaine laying around the house somewhere or something to the effect.
i have a numb tonuge
well, it gets better and don't worry, I've experienced it too and nothing happened.
Some piercing shops do, the reason i know this is because i went with my cousin to get her nose pierced, she is 16, and she told them she was really afraid of pain, but she really wanted it done, so they offered to numb it... and she got it pierced no problem, but not all of them do it.
