Approximately 250 Colt Pythons with 8-inch barrels and nickel finish in .38 Special were produced as a special run for Lew Horton Distributing in the late 1980s.
The value of a Colt Python, such as the model with serial number V83758, can vary significantly based on its condition, age, and market demand. As of late 2023, prices for Colt Pythons typically range from $1,500 to over $3,000, with higher values for pristine or rare variants. To get a precise valuation, consider checking recent sales data, auction results, or consulting a firearm appraiser.
It depends on where you get them from. I have seen prices vary from £50-£250.
They sell for $6000 or more (and going up) if they can be authenticated, and if you can find one. I have a Colt lettered "Lew Horton" Colt Combat Python and it is 1 of 500 made. There are also "Calilfornia" Combat Pythons which are desirable as well. Lots of fake are known to exist. 3 inch barrels were put on other Pythons to make them counterfeit Combats.
