MAC function is framing of packets and LLC functions are protocol multiplexing, flow control, detection, and error control through a retransmission of dropped packets.LLC acts as an interface between MAC and Network Layer.

The following definitions are also true:

  • Logical Link Control (LLC). This sublayer is responsible for the data transmission between computers or devices on a network.
  • Media Access Control (MAC). On a network, the network interface card (NIC) has an unique hardware address which identifies a computer or device. The physical address is utilized for the MAC sublayer addressing.

What is the difference between TDD and TDM?

TDD is a duplex method which means that time is divided into time slots and te user sends data in some time slots and receive data in the rest of time slotsTDMA is a multiple access method which means that time is divided into time slots and each user can access the medium -either transmit or receive- in certain time slots and other users use the medium in the rest time slots.in order to deep understand the differences you should understand he differences between Multiple Access methods -which allow many users o share the medium - and Duplex methods wich identify how Tx and Rx relate to each other in time or frequency or .....

What is dial-up access control and call-back systems?

If users connect to the system by rote via dial-up line(e.g. from home), access should be restricted by a dial-up access control. Dial-up access controls prevent unauthorized acces from remote users that attempt to access a secured environment. These controls range from dialback controls to remove user authentication. Dial-back controls are used over dial-up telecommunication lines.

Difference between physical access and logical access between CPU and peripherals?

A logical access assumes that the location to be read or written is contained within a linear address space, while a physical access describes the actual access to the appropriate sector, the location within the assumed linear address space must be converted into the corresponding platter, sector, and track, and the disk hardware must be instructed to access that specific location.
